Using reports in Live

5 min readReports

How report records are created, listed, filtered, approved, deleted, exported and printed in Live; record files and retention.

This topic explains how report records are created in Live and how they are used with the Report view (or the report design screen). For the report definition, see Designing reports.

How a record is created

  1. Trigger

Record creation starts when the trigger tag of the report meets the condition (or when the operator presses Take record). If a request arriving by trigger comes in while the previous record is being processed, one request waits in the queue.

  2. Measurement

If defined, the Measurement delay is waited for first, then the tags of the fields are read. The field of a tag whose value has not been read or whose quality is bad stays empty.

  3. Write

A record number (prefix + 6-digit number) is assigned and the row is written to the report log: time, number, user, source (tetik, elle, betik) and field values. If it cannot be written, no feedback is given and “could not be saved” is entered in the event log.

  4. Feedback

When the record is written, the defined value is written to the feedback tag; a rapor record is added to the event log; open Report views update the list automatically.

Report view

Report view: date and shift filters, toolbar, statistics strip, record table, selected-record card and mini trend.
Report view: date and shift filters, toolbar, statistics strip, record table, selected-record card and mini trend.
  • Filter bar: preset ranges Today, Yesterday, This week (from Monday), This month, All; custom start / end date-time boxes; shift selector; search box (in the record no., user and text fields); field ▸ condition ▸ value filters with the Filter button. Filters appear as chips; Clear filters removes them all.
  • Toolbar: Refresh, Take record, Compare, Approve / sign, Delete, Excel, CSV, PDF / Print and the column Settings button. The text on the right shows the number of records awaiting approval.
  • Statistics strip: count, minimum, maximum, average, standard deviation and total for the selected numeric field. If you mark two or more records (the box at the start of the row), the statistics are calculated only for the marked records, otherwise for all records in the filter.
  • Record table: columns No., Time, User, Approval and field columns. Clicking a header sorts the table (a second click reverses the order). Out-of-limit values appear in orange or red; below the table, the Summary row shows the period totals of each field (total, average, last value …). You can drag the columns to widen them and hide them with Settings; the layout is saved per station.
  • Selected record card (on the right): fields are grouped and have limit indicators; approval information and previous / next buttons.
  • Mini trend: a graph of the selected field across the records, with the limit lines; clicking a point selects that record.
  • The Period summary tab groups the records by day, shift, week, month or batch field and applies the aggregation method defined for each field (table and chart). The Comparison tab compares two records field by field: the two records if you have marked two, otherwise the selected record and the previous one; the difference and the percentage difference are shown.

Creating, approving and deleting records

ActionCondition and result
Take recordReads the field tags immediately and writes a record (source elle, no delay is awaited). If an Authorization group is selected in the report, only users in that group can press it.
Approve / signIf approval is enabled in the report, approves the selected record: the user, the time and the note (mandatory, if required) are written to the log. A user must be logged on; the Group that can approve (or, if none, the authorization group of the report) is checked. A record that is already approved cannot be approved again. If Lock approved record is on, an approved record cannot be deleted.
DeleteDeletes the selected record after asking for confirmation. The record is not removed from the file; a deletion marker is written to the log and applied when reading. The report authorization group and the approval lock are checked.

Export and printing

ButtonResult
ExcelWrites the records in the list to the file <rapor>_<tarih>.xlsx. Columns: No, Time (date cell), User, fields (display name + unit) and, if approval is on, Approval, Approved by, Approval time, Approval note. Numbers are real numbers, Boolean fields are written as Yes / No.
CSVWrites the same content as a CSV with a semicolon delimiter and BOM.
PDF / Print (Ctrl+P)Opens a print preview window: paper pages, page navigation, zoom, Print and Save as PDF. The layout comes from the report's Print layout setting or from the print bands of the design screen. The PDF is written by the PDF generation of the Live window (WebView2).

Record files and retention

The records are kept in the monthly files <Proje>.veri\gunluk\rapor_<rapor kimliği>_yyyyMM.log, and the record counter in the file depo\rapor_<rapor kimliği>_sayac.json. Old monthly files are deleted according to the Retention (days) and Max. records settings defined in the report (How retention works); months that contain approved records are kept while Keep approved records is on.
