Installation
Installing Studio and Live with the setup program: requirements, installation types, folder layout, first run, updating and uninstalling.
Requirements
| Requirement | Details |
|---|---|
| Operating system | Windows 10 or later. The setup program does not run on older Windows versions (Windows 7 and 8 are not supported). |
| .NET Framework 4.8 | Required. If this version is missing, the setup shows a warning and stops. It is preinstalled in current versions of Windows 10 and 11. |
| WebView2 Runtime | The interface of Studio and Live runs on WebView2. If WebView2 is not installed, the setup program runs Microsoft's Evergreen installer silently; an internet connection is required for this. |
| Administrator rights | By default, installation is made under Program Files and requires administrator approval. On a restricted computer, it can be installed for the current user only (see below). |
Setup program
The setup program is named FabyaVision_Kurulum_<sürüm>.exe; next to it is a .sha256 file containing the SHA-256 digest of the file. To make sure the file is not corrupted, you can compare the digest in PowerShell with the Get-FileHash command.
- Run the program
The wizard opens in Turkish. For English, start the program with the parameter
/LANG=english. - Select the installation type
There are four types:
Type Installed items Full installation Studio + Live + sample project Field computer Live only Engineering computer Studio only Custom installation Select the components yourself: FabyaVision Studio, FabyaVision Live, Sample project (Tanitim Tesisi) The sample project is for trial purposes only; do not install it on a production computer. To learn about the sample project, see Sample projects.
- Specify the folder and options
The default folder is the
Fabyatek\FabyaVisionfolder under Program Files. There are two optional tasks: desktop shortcuts and Start FabyaVision Live automatically when the computer starts (unchecked by default; if you select it, a Live shortcut is placed in the Startup folder). - Complete the installation
At the end you can start Studio (or Live, if only Live is installed). A FabyaVision group is created in the Start menu: Studio, Live and the uninstall shortcut.
Installation for a restricted user
If you do not have administrator rights, run the setup program with the /CURRENTUSER parameter; the program is then installed for that user only. Parameters are given on the command line or by appending them to the Target field of the shortcut.
Installation layout
Two sibling folders are created under the installation folder:
| Folder | Content |
|---|---|
Studio\ | FabyaVision_Studio.exe, wwwroot\, logs\, studio_ayarlar.json, Ornekler\Ornek_Tesis.fvs (the “Sample facility” template in the New Project window) |
Live\ | FabyaVision_Live.exe, wwwroot\, logs\, live_ayarlar.json, Projeler\ (the project folder of Live) |
Ornekler\ | Tanitim_Tesisi.fvs (only with the sample project component) |
The program folder is writable only by the administrator. The places that the programs write to (the two logs folders, Live\Projeler and the two settings files) are opened up with write permission for users during setup; otherwise settings such as the theme, the last project and automatic start would not be persistent.
First start
- Studio starts with a splash screen, then shows the Overview strip on the Overview page: New project…, Open… and recent projects. For a first trial, follow the Quick start topic.
- Live opens with the Select project screen after a new installation (the Start automatically with the last project box is cleared). If the project folder is empty, you are asked to upload from Studio; see Uploading the project to Live.
- If you enable remote monitoring, Live asks for administrator approval to add a permission rule for the relevant port to Windows Firewall; the installation does not add a firewall rule. Details: Remote monitoring.
License and activation
The setup wizard does not ask for a license key; no license or activation check is performed when Studio and Live start, either. License terms and pricing are outside the scope of this manual; for information, contact Fabyatek (www.fabyatek.com).
Updating and uninstalling
- Update: run the new setup program over the old version. If Studio or Live is running, you are asked to close it. The settings files and the
Live\Projelerfolder are left untouched. We recommend backing up theLive\Projelerfolder before updating. - Uninstalling: Uninstall FabyaVision via Windows Settings›Apps. The
logsfolders and the two settings files are deleted. If there is a project inLive\Projeler, the folder is not deleted (it is user data); when the uninstallation finishes, the path of the folder is shown in a message.
